As the Labor Day weekend starts, we would like to wish everyone a very happy Labor Day weekend! With many members going out of town, we have decided to close the lodge on Monday, September 3, 2018. We are sorry if this has an impact on your weekend. But, we will be open Tuesday, September 4th and serving Taco's that evening.
Again, if you are leaving town or just hanging around the house this weekend, please be safe this holiday weekend.
With so much to write about, I am going to skip the Moose Convention in New Orleans for now and I will write about that in another article. For now, this weekend, we installed the first phase of a new sound system in the Social Quarters. The sound system is to replace the jukebox with a free member alternative. The new sound system is powered by a commercial 240W 5ch 100/70V Mixer Amp, 4 room speakers, and an Android TV box with Spotify and Pandora. We actually have other audio accessories, but they are for the Karaoke nights we have planned for the near future. This was the first phase of the setup. We will in our next phase be moving the volume controls behind the bar and connecting the outside speakers in the front lawn area of the lodge. This amplifier leaves us room to expand if we want into other areas of the lodge too. We are hoping that the new music and surround sound football coverage in the near future will be exciting for the members.
We would like to thank everyone that helped in making this happen including Greg Kunstbeck for helping to pull cable, mounting speakers, and the lender of tools. And to the patrons this weekend that put up with the construction sounds while they were enjoying the Social Quarters. It was an exhausting two days of work. We have lots more planned in the near future, and not just phase 2 of our audio project. We invite you to come to visit and hear the difference and to stay tuned for new projects!
To some, it is a big deal, for others it isn’t! The lodge has got the Point of Sale (POS) system up and running and the inaugural voyage will start this Monday! What this means to members is we are now able to keep better track of sales, have more security for money at the lodge, and we will be taking credit cards for purchases. We also know that many have had issues with the ATM machine at the lodge and we have contacted the provider of this service to let them know of the issues. We hope this problem is fixed soon!
Oh, and one other thing to report! We have two new Charitable gaming machines at the lodge from Newmarket Entertainment (Now, Grover Gaming). These are the Raptor series and have a limited number of games to choose from. But, we are expecting more games in the next week or so! These games look dynamite! Come to play this evening!
If you have been a member of our lodge for any amount of time, you know Paul Behneman. Paul is sick and to help defray the costs of medical treatment and living expenses while he is out of work, the lodge is holding a fundraiser for him and his family during this troubling time. As we are all Moose members, we care about our extended family.
On July 21, 2018, starting at 3:00 pm and running until 7:00 pm, we will be having food and drinks, 50/50 drawings and raffles, and live music. As you may already know, Paul has been diagnosed with cancer. His bills are mounting fast. To attend this benefit, it will be 20 dollars at the door. Live music will be from the "Rusty Highway Band". We hope you will all come to attend and help one of our own. All proceeds will go to the Behneman family. Please, keep Paul and his family in your prayers.
If you have not seen Paul’s GoFundMe page and wish to make a donation, you can see it here. We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, July 21!
As our lodge grows in new directions, we are increasing our hours of operation on Friday's and Sunday's. This is to deal with increased use on these days. As we see increased foot traffic into our lodge we hope to change other days too.
If you have not had a chance to come to play Free Texas Hold'Em poker with us on Fridays we invite you. We had a great start last week and hope to grow it even larger in the coming weeks. To entice you into playing we are giving $1000 dollars in free poker chips your first night of play and if you buy dinner you get a second $1000 dollars in free chips too!
We are also getting bigger and bigger crowds on Sunday evenings. This is why we are extending our hours this day. Come to enjoy the Sunday evenings here at the lodge and put off thinking about work a few more hours.
We want to thank all the members and new members that are frequenting the lodge. We know we have some big shoes to fill in the coming year to make things better. We know we can do it and with your help, we can make things great! Hope to see you soon!

As always, bikers are welcome here!
Hope to see you soon!
The Vienna Moose Lodge would like to thank and support our current and past Armed Forces personnel and to honor those that have given all in support of our country for Memorial Day. If not for their sacrifices, we would not be the country we are today! We would like to thank the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars posts of Virginia for all the support they show for our hometown troops. Thank you for your protection of our liberties!
If you wish to find out more about more about Memorial Day please visit these links.

In case you might have missed it, on Sunday, February 4, 2018, Super Bowl LII was held and so was a Chili Cook-Off at our lodge. Leading up to the Cook-Off there was lots of smack talk about who was going to make the best chili! We had nine participants that cooked every type of chili from white turkey to mild beef and Chernobyl hot versions. The voting was very close. There were three tie votes, but in the end, Kent and Heather Caldwell won.
We have to say it was a fun afternoon of watching the Philadelphia Eagles win 41 to 33 against the New England Patriots with friends at the lodge. We are already planning next year’s Super Bowl party! Do you have a chili worthy of competing? We hope you join us next year!
